C3 – Complete Community Connection

RIF to RIF » Product is Separated from Content

The product creation and maintenance needs to be separate from content creation. Within content areas, Information Content is content for the strengthening of the community, without a particular agenda other than good government, transparency, etc. Content with an agenda, including advertising, commercial content, user reviews of commercial establishments or services needs to have its own ecosystem, properly tagged.

Good morning, Chuck. I’m anxious to learn more about your view of product creation. In a recent post on Poynter Online http://www.poynter.org/column.asp?id=131&aid=161330, I raise the question of whether newspaper ad departments could evolve into marketing services operations. With the decline of traditional advertising in both print and online, I’m looking for examples of news organizations that are doing some reinvention of advertising — and their advertising departments. Appreciate any help you can provide.
